Seafarer Employment Agreements (SEAs)/Contracts of Employment (CoEs)
Levanto work closely with each client to understand their requirements and make sure that the most appropriate employment agreement is issued to each seafarer at the same time as ensuring that the agreement remains compliant with applicable flag state and/or Maritime Labour Convention regulations.
Crew Administration
All crew administration services can be tailored to the individual yacht and owner’s requirements, including the following:
- Preparation of SEAs/CoEs, leave calculations, crew salary amendments, termination and extension letters
- Pre-employment checks to ensure each crew member is suitability qualified for the rank in which they are being hired
- Review on-board crew-related procedures and recommend changes to streamline and minimise the administration required on board the yacht.
HR and Personnel Support
We will liaise directly with the owner’s team, captain or seafarer, to ensure that all employment-related HR queries and employment disputes are dealt with professionally with the required support and guidance. Where necessary we will seek external professional advice in order to minimise exposure to potential employment claims.
Payroll Services
Monthly Invoicing
Levanto work directly with the yacht’s captain or representative to prepare a comprehensive and detailed monthly payroll invoice ensuring that payments to individual seafarers are consistent with the contractual terms, and in line with current regulations.
Seafarer Salary Payments
Once our payroll invoices are finalised and funds received, salary payments are made to the seafarer’s personal bank account, with the option of being split between multiple bank accounts, if required. Monthly payslips are emailed directly to each seafarer.
Salary payments can be made to accounts in an alternative currency to the seafarer’s contractual salary currency. We arrange for the FX to be made prior to the transfer, taking advantage of commercial exchange rates, rather than standard high street rates.
